Next Major Update
Valheim Ashlands is the next major biome update coming to Valheim this year. Developed by Iron Gate AB, this new biome will be a large chunk of land with a volcanic nature located towards the south of the map. It will feature new quests, monstrosities, the Charred enemy type, and more.
Small but significant small updates
The developers have promised a few smaller updates in the meantime, such as a new NPC called Hildir who comes with her own quests, as well as new clothes and customization options. Valheim will also release on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S in 2023.
Currently, there is no official release date for the Valheim Ashlands update yet, but it is speculated that it could arrive in late 2023 or early 2024. This is due to the fact that it took more than a year to finish the chunky Valheim Mistlands update. Players can look forward to exploring the Ashlands, another new biome, hopefully, sometime in 2023. The Ashlands will be teeming with eerie undead enemies, and players will be able to collect Surtling Core from Surtlings and Flametal Ore from Glowing Rocks.

Iron Gate has also shared some truly creepy concept art and details about the Valheim Ashlands update. They have also stated that they would be more transparent about the development of the Ashlands update than they had been about Mistlands, giving more regular insights into how the project progresses.
